  • is there a software that can record to mp3 instead of wav?

damn i searched for a while now and cant find 1, even a shareware..all them records to wav ..i would like to record the music which is on an MD using the line in of my sound card..but i would like it to be on mp3 format..cause i dont have enough space, if i record in wav..and it would be a hassle recording it trace by track to wav then converting it to mp3..anyone know of any?

Sure - Audio Catalyst will do it. It's probably in WAV format temporarily, so you might need 50MB free or some such. But otherwise it will go straight to MP3.

Too bad the Xing codec Audio Catalyst uses is the worst codec out there when comes to quality. It's fast though.

What I use to record my mp3's with is called CDEx.

        Go fetch

It records ordinary music to wav's as well, plus has the ability to convert wav's to mp3.
