Who cares about looks, the question stands: Can I install 10+ HD:s, CD, CD-RW, DVD and a floppy in it AND close the case ???

Looks like these guys have picked up on a trend that has reversed itself, if it ever was a trend at all.

I just read that a couple of large OEM's, most prominently Dell, have given up on the "designer PC."

        Beige is back!

          AAArrghhh.. ugly.

To me, the example of what a computer should be (in aspect) is the MAC G3 (not the coloured one, the previous beige Power PC.)

It´s sober, the case is of high quality (and resistant) and it´s silent. Most PCs are ugly, unfortunately.

              So, don't bring misfortune

(I don't promote using that stuff, however...
I prefer my big tower made of functional metal. It will not broke when I take my Pc to a friend home)

I just wonder how long that veneer will hold, once you start OCing about everything in your PC, and it starts going really hot

I'm thinking of givin my next case a layer of chrome, or something like that.
I'm gonna finish it off with blue and white power/drive-LED's and an AMD-logo I made a while ago:

                  52,2Kb.. sorry
This is not the final version; I have to paint the PCB to white or silver to finish the job.

Alec is correct those beige MAC cases. They looked pretty good and are designed very well on the inside. I had to do a couple of upgrades on a some from our Marketing department. They open easy, fit tight and unfold to expose the entire motherboad. Very impressive design. The blue one's are just as easy to work on but, well blue and look like a Chinese throwing star from the side.

Yeah, but the problem with the Mac-case is that it has limited space to stuff drives in.
                      Three harddisks, a DVD/CD-ROM and a Zip...
                      And that's it

                        Kaj,
                        Are those LED's or Lite-Brite's?

Wombat-> Yes; those are LED's 288 of them...
I've made an AMD-logo out of LED's on a lost rainy sunday (of which we have plenty here in The Netherlands )a while ago, and made some pictures (and a webpage) of it.
Unfortunately, the CCD of my camera couldn't handle the brightness, so it's a little saturated.
If you can read Dutch, check this page: http://www.kajcom.cistron.nl/amd/ , if you can't; check it anyway , the schematics and photo's will speak for themselves.
