Hi everone.
Sorry I didn't have time to... say hi to everyone again. (Holly. Paul. Jorden. HI.)

i.. am ... too ... busy.... banging myself over the head with a cast iron squirrel...

because (laugh) i thought (crazy cackle) i could install a board with a VIA chipset! (twitch)

... I think this was the.. worst $1000 I ever lost... =o_O=

This thing is about the equivalent of having said Athlon 900 chip installed onto ... a piece of toast.

No. No. Toast is more compatible than this thing. Hell, if you throw jelly on some lightly browned sourdough bread it'll even run faster! (maniacal giggle and involuntary toe-twitch)

(ami sheds her clothing and goes running around in the rain speaking in tongues)

Banging your head with a cast iron squirrel. Running naked through the rain, speaking in tongues. Sourdough bread and jelly.

You're in San Francisco, aren't you?!? No wonder you're up so late. Usually, it's just me and Dimitri around this time of night.

Put on a jacket. You'll catch a cold.

Running over with a raincoat, and a dictionary...

tsk tsk tsk, all those horney men in here and Ami running around naked, over a piece of hardware? tsk tsk tsk.

Be calm girl. Time for a little vacation, I think. And you're welcome to spend it around here. Look out from the balcony on the spare room. Go for a walk around the neighborhood, while half clothed (it's hot here!!), sit by the canal for some time looking at the boats.

You're always welcome, Ami.

it was a... a.. K7V... it still IS a K7V.

Long, long ago I swore that Asus, much like Utah, was "the right place". (?) And nothing was to be built higher than the top of a P2B's retention bracket. But not even the good Reverend Jebadiah Asus could make right what VIA made wrong. (VIA: The Taiwanese Chipset Roadhouse, a.k.a, 'Lets Get Drunk, High and Build a SouthBridge)...

Pictures, there won't be any pictures because, because it's ... not like my RR-G is WORKING or anything kaharaaayzy like that.

I like my Athlon. It's got a lot of potential, and the chip feels so powerful in my hands. I can't -DO- anything with it but it looks real nice on my desk.

I curled up and slept next to that chip last night. And swore that I'd give it a good home someday. But I might end up letting the little guy down http://forums.murc.ws/ubb/frown.gif

Jorden, if I come over to that far away land where you live and they talk funny, is it okay if I sit on a rocking chair, clutching my Athlon tightly and rocking back and forth and yelling angry senile things at children who pass by?

And, actually I'm not in San Francisco. Still Wisconsin...

Oh, and Gurm, Thanks for being my Mr. T. I hope you'll always be large and menacing for us here at the MURC, and continue to pity fools (like me).

Y'know, Jim.... this is a solemn moment, trying to help our dear friend here-- could you possibly focus on something <u>other</u> than the food angle for a couple of minutes? http://forums.murc.ws/ubb/icons/icon2.gif

Oh, and Ami-- we aren't kidding, you know. We really would love to have you over, we do have a spare bedroom (bring your own bed, though http://forums.murc.ws/ubb/wink.gif) and you really may sit on one of the 3(!!! the Dutch believe in quality of life, unlike us in NYC, at least) terraces, or out by the canal and babble and drool to your heart's content. We'd be honored to host your Mental Health Break. http://forums.murc.ws/ubb/biggrin.gif

Last but not least....I should tell you, 2K-- we're actually <u>worse</U> without our medications, although I feel that I must take the blame... and place it squarely on Jorden http://forums.murc.ws/ubb/icons/icon2.gif --(fiancee privilege).

After all, he started the whole love-fest by wooing and winning me on these very forums some 11 months ago.

We do have spew-buckets for those too cynical to deal with it, though http://forums.murc.ws/ubb/wink.gif.

.... should I? ....should I?.....

....no, but I will, anyway (sorry, Jord, but at T-7, it's surely time to catch everybody new up one last time....)

Without further ado, then, here's the backstory, if you have somehow managed to forget those halycon days of yore.... http://forums.murc.ws/ubb/biggrin.gif
OK, Listen up guys and gals... (http://forums.murc.ws/ubb/Forum5/HTML/002040-2.html) (also known as "Jorden's troll thread" http://forums.murc.ws/ubb/wink.gif, which really starts at my entrance about a third of the way down Page 1, but I walked right into his fiendish trap on Page 2...)
OK, It's been a Tense Week, so let's lighten it up a bit (http://forums.murc.ws/ubb/Forum5/HTML/002634.html) (becomes self-evident about 2/3 of the way down Page 1 and goes on from there...)
Hello From Holland! (http://forums.murc.ws/ubb/Forum5/HTML/004843.html) (which is obvious).

Which is to say, the 'luv thang' isn't a joke, nor a forum gag. As embarrassing as it is to admit, I can actually say that I met my husband (to-be) on the Internet, because of faulty videocard drivers (the glorious G200 OGL ICD). And this time next week (exactly, in point of fact) I'll be on a plane, on my way home.

Therefore:
We've earned our love-fest, 2K... what Jord (and I) began, the whole Tylau Event set in concrete...and,
The offer is good, Ami. Think about it. http://forums.murc.ws/ubb/smile.gif
Brave little Ami. After leaving the security of a BX chipset nestled in a P3B-F, she ventures into the dimension of VIA, and enters......the multiple patch twilight zone.

Have you tried arranging your friends in a circle, garbed in black hoods, under a full moon, with a live sacrifice (Lamb preferred, but an old Wisconsin cheese cow will do) while chanting VIA, VIA?

The G400 is a perfectly fine TNT2/Voodoo3/G400 generation card... As soon as Matrox decides to "getup on the downstroke" and install a size ten combat boot in Nvidia's patoot, (IF they do) , I'll schluck that one inna the Athlon.

I still use the G400 mightily though. Besides. I felt I had to keep it online in order to retain my membership here. http://forums.murc.ws/ubb/smile.gif And I really do like dualhead.

The only question I have, is if Matrox is getting out of the 3d card realm, what on earth do they have to improve on, then?

I don't know about you but Excel and Word are perfectly playable at 75fps - though I admit that bump mapped spreadsheets would get a second look at the office. o_O
