  • Are we EVER going to get Windows 2000 drivers?

I have Matrox Mystique 220 with Rainbow Runner. When I try to open a .MPG movie, Windows 2000 boots. If I try to change the desktop resolution, Windows 2000 boots.

Does Matrox support Windows 2000 at all?

Yes, Matrox supports win2k. On cards from recent generations, but not the old stuff.

From the Matrox Tech Support FAQ:

    10. What products will Matrox support under Windows 2000?

    - G100 products
    - G200 products, including Marvel G200
    - G400 products, including Marvel G400
    - Rainbow Runner G-series (RRG)
    Core2 Duo E7500 2.93, Asus P5Q Pro Turbo, 4gig 1066 DDR2, 1gig Asus ENGTS250, SB X-Fi Gamer ,WD Caviar Black 1tb, Plextor PX-880SA, Dual Samsung 2494s

Maybe this is not an Matrox issue ?
        Anyway, try the following:

        Update the Matrox BIOS:
        ftp://ftp.matrox.com/pub/mga/bios/setup351.exe

        Update drivers: http://www.matrox.com/mga/drivers/fi...cific%20Notice

If that doesnt work, try to update your MB BIOS.

It clearly is since they don't plan to make any drivers for the RR Studio. Not that I blame them, the product is rather old. And installing drivers for the RR G-Series and/or flashing a new bios won't work for obvious reasons.

You will not find many, if any manufaturers that are going to support win2k on something as old as that setup.
Many makers never even made 95/98 drivers for their cards from that era.

              Sorry, was a bit quit.
Though he had the RR g-series...
And yes, I hate it when maufacturers drop support for old HW, but most do when the product is more than 2 years old...
