  • What;s VSYNC? Should it be on or off?

I have a G400 MAX and the 5.41 drivers. Is my VSYNC on or off? What does it do? Thanks!

This is an idiotic post but if at all possible turn VSYNC off. It causes your MAX to wait for your monitor to be done drawing a frame before sending the next. This can result in performance much worse than your MAX is capable of in 3D games. However, if you see any image tearing (you'll know it when you see it), enable VSYNC for that game. The reason this is an idiotic post is that I don't know how to disable it in Win9x - haven't used that OS in a while. There might be some reg hacks to do it, but I'm just not sure. Anyone?

So I guess if there's a hack to turn it off, it's automatically on?

Yeah, for image quality issues it defaults to on.
