  • Help: G200 NT Drivers since nt4_431 make NT hang/crash after logon

nt4_422.exe and older drivers work perfectly.
what was changed in the newer one's?
there is no blue screen but seconds after you see the desktop the systems hangs and forces me to shutdown the computer...you just see a distorted image on the screen

I use a Compaq Deskpro EP 6350; 128 MB RAM
    Matrox Millennium G200 8 MB SD-RAM
    NT4 SP6a

I cannot overcook my Celerys as much with the 431 and 434 drivers as I could with the 422 drivers. It was very solid with 422 drivers with Celery running at 5 * 92. Now I'm running them at 5 * 78. After a couple of minutes, the system would beep and completely freeze, requiring the "reset" switch.

    Millennium G200 AGP 8MB SGRAM
    NT4 SP6a + IE5
Abit BP6 with dual 333 Celery
    128 MB CAS2
    SoundBlaster 512 PCI
    generic VIA Rhine 10/100BT NIC

I have just re-ghosted 35 PIII 450's with G200 SDRAMS and NT4 SP6a and PD 4.34. I am seeing the exact same problems on a LOT on the machines!

Sudden freezes, no Dr. Watson, nothing. The only thing I can do is to power the machine down. Just like you I was rock steady on PD 4.22. But I was also running SP5 at the time not SP6a like I'm trying to now.

Anyone having this same trouble with G200, PD 4.34 only on NT SP5?

      Matrox HELP!!!!!

      Alan

I can't run anything after 4.22 either. Extremely unstable. This is with a dual P-II IBM Intellistation w/192M RAM and a 400 Max. Also at SP6a.

With PD4.34 I get lockups, most of the time with screen corruption. That is on NT 4.0 SP5. After going back to the drivers I was using before (3.63), the problems were gone.

          Eddy.

Seems as though I have no choice but to re-ghost all ~100 machines with the 4.22 drivers.

Matrox had been notified of this situation, but I haven't heard back from anyone.

            Pissed,
            Alan
