  • openGL screensaver /w 4.13 NT

    Hi!

I'm using Windows NT4. The openGL screensavers doesn't work anymore. They try to use the default openGL32.dll which isn't used anymore in PD4_4.13. How do I change the register to make them use G200icd.dll ?

    Hi Sam,
Have you updated your bios to v2.3.11? It was pain updating my bios to v2.3.11 from v1.2 since all my scsi drives are NTFS format. I was able to find an old win95 boot disk and just copied the necessary files to the floppy and update my bios. I'm running workstation NT4 SP5 and my opengl screen savers work fine, maybe a bit slower than when I was using PD 4.07. Only major problem that I have with PD 4.13 is that my DVD station software for my Hollywood Plus mpeg card doen't work properly. Picture is squashed, and is not really viewable. I know it's PD 4.13 because if I go back to PD 4.07 it works fine.

Why do you think it's necessary to use the latest BIOS? Perhaps I missed it, but I've not seen anything about version 2.3.11 being reuired.

Unless there's a specific reason, it's not a good idea to upgrade any BIOS, and I'd like to avoid doing it unless I must.

        bye,
        Norman

When I was using bios v1.2 with the new pd v4.13 some of the opengl screen savers crashed and the others ran painfully slow. Afer I upgraded the bios from v1.2 to 2.3.11 the opengl screen savers worked fine, no crashes but still they still runs slower than with pd v4.07. I believe v1.2 was the orginal bios version, because i bought the g200 card when it first came out last August. Btw I never said v2.3.11 was required.. just recommending it as a possible solution.

            Hi,

The screen savers and 4.13 are a know issue. Matrox are saying that this will be fix in the next drivers.

            Ciao
