  • Powerdesk 5 Monitor properties?

    Hey all
I've just installed PD5 and I can't seem to find the Monitor properties sheet. I know it's supposed to be under the Advanced section in the Settings tab, but it isn't. It looks like all the other powerdesk tabs are there, but that one isn't... sigh. Any help would be appreciated! Shank you!

There are two possible sources to your problem:
          1- You don't have DX6 properly installed.
2- Your display is a digital flat panel.

            Hello again.

I don't have TV-Out enabled, I reinstalled DX6.1, and my display is a 15" CRT. I think I might drop back to 4.51, so I can get my monitor properties back and re-enable my vid-editing capabilities. Any clue when the new video tools are coming out?? Hm. Well, thanks a bunch for the help, Maggi and Phoenix. *grin*

              hi SockBoy ..
i have the same problem as u .. i did everything .. but no luck .. see my thread in the matrox hardware forum.
while we are at this .. you can try the following procedure and tell me if it works for you ..
boot into windows with the monitor turned off .. and after windoze loads .. turn it on ..and tell me if u get that silly monitor settings tab .. then make all your modifications for the monitor and save it.
but next time you boot normally with monitor on .. it'll dissapear ..

                  Hey arbymo,

I just reinstalled my OS, and used the 4.33 drivers so that I could use the vid editing capabilities of my Marvel again (and regain my monitor properties *grin*). As soon as the new video tools are released, I'm going to go back to 5.13, and try to get the monitor properties once more. I remember having this problem before, but it wasn't with the 5.13 drivers... it was back when I had an old Mystique 170. It's weird. But, I have to get back to work, so the best of luck!!

                    Hi Guys,

Simply use the uninstaller513 from matrox web site. you are only getting this since you have traces of your 4.x drivers still in there...

                    Ciao

                    Ben

armyworm ..did u have the same problem here ?
for 4.x traces .. i made a frsh install of win98, win95b and then install the new 5.13 drivers .. so i guess i didn't have any old drivers traces .. but the problem was still there !!

                        Hi,

I had several problems but never with the monitor tab. I saw the problem on other forums... now I have a TNT2 card, so I couldn't test it... I'll get back with the G400 whenit will be available everywhere. If you go in safe mode, make sure in your device manager that you only have one monitor and one video card listed... this is sometime an issue.

                        Ciao
