  • Recomended G400 MAX Overclocked Settings For MGA Tweak

    Hey Guyz and fellow Matrox users,

    I have a Matrox G400 MAX and want to know what is a recomended speed to overclock the card to using the deafult fan that came with the card. Please post your settings for 'MGA Tweak' and all of your system components if known. My system Components are listed below.

    Cheers

    Ok lets see...

    I've o/c my MAX to 425.45 PLL clock with 2.50/2.00/2.50 clock dividers, use manual Duty Cycle correction of 0/5/0 and 3 2 4 9 4 1 Fast 1 1 1 1.0 1.0 2433 and i'm getting
    170.10Mhz/212.63Mhz/170.10Mhz .
    In 3dmark 2000 i don't get any gfx corruption at all and if anyone knows any settings that might improve my setup ....tell me

          Moto-X,

          The problem is (if you call it a problem) that the % increase of the Graphic clock is much bigger than the % increase of the Memory clock so this might mean than the memory can't keep up with the G400 chip speed.
          Did you notice in the helicopter benchmark in 3dMark2000 when you o/c your MAX the benchmarks go up, but there is a decrease in the smoothness of the 3d-animation(hick-ups ).
          Maybe a different setting will fix this glitch(better SGRAM settings??).

          What you think?

            Moto-X,

            Just change the SGRAM Settings from 3 2 4 9 4 to 3 2 3 9 4 and you will get a tiny boost with no gfx corruption at all.

            With default CPU speed 1.1Ghz i get:

            From 3533 3dmarks---->3578 3dmarks

            Game1Low 72.8-->74
            Game1Medium 50.7-->51.6
            Game1High 21.4-->22.3
            Fillrate 302.2/301--->303.1/301.6

            Still searching for the sweet-pot settings....

              Try this,

              3,1,4,9,3 or 3,1,3,9,4. Can't remember which one of these two I have at home. Everything else can be the fastest possible settings. With this settings, my vanilla G400DH 32MB happened to work great at more than MAX speed. However, I leave the SYSPLL at 297MHz standard factory dividers. Anything higher than that will cause graphics glitches after long run, an hour or so... Likely a heat issue. My case is not well vantilated.

                  And i will like to thank kjliew for developing MGATweak in the first place

                  By the way i just installed my brand new Crucial PC133 CAS 2 128Mb memmory and i have +230 3dMarks in 3DMarks 2000 .

                  ...and it must be 3,1,3,9,4 because the other setting actually decreases the performance
