  • W2K, G400MAX, ludicrously low resolution

I've just recently rebuilt my machine after some software messed up my DVDROM. I installed W2K Pro, and immediately installed the latest G400 drivers, the certified versions (5.32), and applied the typical monitor configuration I've used for years.

Now, when I've installed Unreal Tournament with the 4.36 patch, AND the G400 Tech Demo, both refuse to run in any resolution greater than 320x240 @ 32bpp.

I'm using W2K + SP1 and the compatibility updates, with DX8.0a, on a Tyan Thunder/100 w/ P3-500 x 2. The only other cards in the system are my SBLive and a WinTV card.

I actually ran into this problem once before, with Unreal Gold, but didn't think much of it since it was an older game, and thus I don't remember whether I had UT installed as well at the time.

Has anyone else run into this before?

    What monitor are you using?
    Is it properly setup?

I have a DX 17T that does not officially do 1024x768x85Hz, but will do it quite comfortably. I have to lower the refresh rate to 75Hz to get all available resolution in all gams.
