  • G400/450 work only at AGP1x on Abit KT7A

Recently, I found my G450 card on Abit KT7A (Bios version: both ww and zt) works only at AGP 1x at 133MHz FSB with 33MHz PCI clock. I tried to use Matrox tweak Ultility t switch it into 4x, but it's just useless. Later, I tried to install a G400 16MB SH card on to the mobo and the problem can't be solved.
Is it a hardware issure and how can I solve it?

I wouldn't worry about trying to raise the AGP level. From what I've been picking up around here, it seems the VIA chipsets don't correctly implement AGP anyway. 1x, 2x, 4x, doesn't seem to matter.
Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.

I found it was due to via 4in1 driver, the cards worked fine after I reinstalled the driver. I can't understand VIA at all, its chipsets are not bad, but the drivers are really not as stable as the drivers by Intel for its chipsets. Why can it put more resources into drivers?
