  • G450 PCI and AGP Difference

I am considering the buy the G450 PCI. The specs for the G450 AGP and PCI versions are different.

The PCI specs lack OpenGL and "High-quality DVD playbacks". Are these implimented on a seperate chip and it is not included in the PCI version, is this an oversight on the spec sheet, or is this a driver issue? Does anyone out there have the OEM version and can you tell me if there is DVD or OpenGL support? Are there any other differences?

    Thanx
If it doesn't work the first time, reboot and try again.

Let me answer my own question. It seems to be a Mobo chipset issue. With an Intel chips set it seems that DVD and OpenGL are ok but on Mobos with non-Intel chipsets they are not. I guess without busmastering the card will not be able to get the bandwidth needed for those application, maybe, I really don't know.

comments still appreciated from those who have tried this card out.

people have stated that the G450PCI would work without such a problem on their non-Intel chipset PCs before, so I guess it's just a statement for Matrox not to be responsable if it will give problems on your non-Intel chipset PC.
