  • Matrox wins Crystal Wafer Award from AMD

    Stolen from www.3dnews.net

Daniel Wald of Matrox informs me that Maxtrox has won the Crystal Wafer award from AMD. Here is the info from the press release:

Montreal, Canada, April 12, 2001— Matrox Graphics Inc., today announced it won the Crystal Wafer Award in the hardware class from AMD at the System Builder Summit that took place March 4-7, 2001.

“We are extremely pleased to receive this award from AMD,” said Ron Berty, Americas channel manager, Matrox Graphics Inc. “Winning the Crystal Wafer Award demonstrates our continued efforts to work with members of the system builder community and partners such as AMD to bring innovative technology like DualHead® to market.”

Recognized for working closely with AMD to ensure superior system performance and stability, Matrox was nominated for the award by AMD’s IEG (Infrastructure Enablement Group) department and system builder team. Thanks to its channel support, technical and program development, and participation in AMD’s system builder seminars, Matrox was selected as the top hardware supporter of AMD processor platforms, chosen ahead of other computer companies that produce various types of hardware components such as graphics cards, motherboards, hard drives and monitors. Starting in fall 2000, the Crystal Wafer Awards recognize vendor support for AMD programs and platforms, as well as their participation in the system builder community.

“Matrox has always been a strong supporter of AMD platforms and processor products. We’d like to recognize their sales and marketing efforts for our system builder community throughout North America,” said Lee Little, AMD’s director of field marketing for the Americas.

Demonstrating its ongoing support of AMD, Matrox will participate in 15 of the 17 system builder seminars that are part of the Spring 2001 Team AMD Tech Tour, which are taking place in April, May and June. The tour consists of a series of seminars in 17 cities across North America and focuses on AMD is latest technology, as well as products and programs that support AMD and the system builder community. During the tour, Matrox will exhibit its latest graphics solution for the corporate desktop, the Millennium G450 with eDualHead.
