OK, we've had this posted several times now.. and by the way:

>> 0.18 micron process

Who wouldn't have guessed?

>> AGP 1x, 2x en 4x

HUGE surprise

>> 360 MHz RAMDAC

Easy guess here again

>> 32 MB DDR SDRAM

again

>> OpenGL and DirectX API support

REALLY?

>> 256-bit DualBus

Don't think so, unless it means 128 bit dual.. But I could be wrong here

>> Extended DualHead capabilities

Easy guess again

>> Vibrant Color Quality2 rendering

again

>> Environment-Mapped Bump Mapping

again

>> Matrox Skinning

It's still Matrix skinning, but it's no hard guess considering they talked about it

>> Displacement Mapping

ditto

>> Ultra Sharp DAC

They are Matrox.

>> Integrated TV-out DAC

DualHead.

>> High-quality DVD playback

T'is time.

hi all,

can you imagine a new card in 2001 without

- Dot3 bump mapping
- S3TC compression
- FSAA
- good performance in trilinear

And general performance that could not reach what a GF2 mx/ Kyro 2 do.

Be serious

I find those "specs" kinda hilarious, because this is what you get when you go to Matrox' homepage and select Products->Graphics cards->Millennium G450:

Key features:

0.18-micron technology
AGP 1X, 2X, 4X
360 MHz RAMDAC
32 MB DDR memory
Support for OpenGL and DirectX
256-bit DualBus
DualHead display technology
Vibrant Color Quality² rendering
Environment-Mapped Bump Mapping
UltraSharp DAC
Integrated TV encoder
High-quality DVD playback

Let me see... The differences to the "G550 specs" are:

-Displacement mapping (okay, an Matrox employee talked about this at the GDC, of course it's gonna be on anybody's specs list)
-Matrox skinning (what the heck is this anyway...matrix skinning?)

Matrox Skinning must be the official name for 'render subject nude'

LOL!

look the source!

Reactor Critical's source is shrimpwars ( http://shrimpwars.be/hardware/ )

shrimpwars'es source is vr-zone ( http://www.vr-zone.com/Home/news87/news87.htm#1385 )

and guess what? VR-Zone's source is Reactor Critical!

hmmh... I think this is conspiracy against Matrox fans. they think we would believe that?!

I think those specs are made from scratch and has nothing to do with the real upcoming Matrox chip. (or almost.)
