  • Anyone using ramsinks on their G400 ?

I've been considering buying some sinks and Arctic Silver Epoxy for my G400.
The core will do up to 180 MHz with stock cooling, unfortunately the mem craps out at 182 MHz (a measly 10% overclock, I want more dammit).

Any success stories out there ?

I did (1"x1"x0.75" HS on each chips) and got nothing more (I was at 150core/200mem). BTW, I suggest you stick with the 3/4 core/mem divider ration, because the G400 is tweaked for such ratio, and using an other ratio will induces a lot of timing-related slowdowns (you'll loose whatever gain you had by overclocking)...

    Francis,

Right now I'm running at 135/180, although 3DMark 2001 did improve slightly at 160/180.

      It went from 1198 (stock - 125/166) to 1257 (135/180) to 1296 (160/180), an 8% improvement for a 10% mem and 28% core overclock.

Got my MAX stable up to 180/240, after that it starts showing artefacts, and at 182/245 it simply crashes out of games after five seconds.
When I was still a kid, my parents got me a Packard Bell. I've never been happier. Now it's degraded to a foot support.

Yea, ramsinks will definately help. Whether it will help a lot or not, depends on every individual card.

My G400 oc's higher when I got a 80mm fan attached to the hs. The 80m fan blows over the ram chips as well as the hs. My OEM card doesn't have any ram chips on the back tho.

My vanilla won't do anything above 150 on the core, but the memory could handle 210.
Had a hard time trying to find the right settings for 150/210.
In the end I had to lock it at 150/200.
