  • Elie, Nt Or 98 with DV setup

    Hai,

    I was wondering...

do you use your dv setup in NT or 98

I have to edit a video for a band, and wanted to test the hotconnect!

    I'm gonna use Premiere 5.1c

    please let me know!

    Hi Remi,

    I don't have a DV system yet
But my suggestion is if your DV hardware supports NT then by all means go for it.
We all know how stable NT is compare to Win98, However if your hardware doesn't support NT then I guess your only option is Win98 preferably Win98 SE for the extra fixes, and to tell you the truth it's not bad at all.

    Regards,
    Elie

      Thanks,
I thought you used DV because u recommended
      adaptec to someone else...

      Do you use NT?

I don't feel like installing the system because I'm testing this week, but I guess I should, I have wi98 SE now, and it hasn't crashed on me yet, but I have only been drawing so far.

      ciao

Man!! that post was a while ago

I don't use NT but when Win2000 becomes available I'll be the first to convert.

Take this as a word of advice..
"If it works leave it alone, don't try something that will jeopordize both OS's."

Wait till Win2000 due to be released in Feb 17th and is available then convert

        Regards,
        Elie

Course that is if you can get drivers for 2000 to allow you to convert (*cough* *cough Matrox).

IMHO, anyone who tries a new MS O/S before SP1 or equivalent is out is taking a serious risk, unless he is willing to be a beta tester and to write his own drivers. Please excuse my normal advocatus diaboli role.

Point well taken, I'll stick with my os 4 now, but if the tests go wrong I'll install NT with sp6 is it?

              I'll keep you posted!
              thanx again!
