Trouble is Jeff, the whole lot will cost you close to £2000(ouch).

I would've bought the RT2000 if it had been released four months ago, but now I'm leaning more in the direction of waiting for software developers to catch up to the IEEE-1394 Type 1 vs Type 2 mini-DV format handling. That lops off $1200 (USD) from the mix. I'm guessing that I can upgrade from MSP 5.2 to 6.0 for $200 or less, and upgrade from Cool3D 2.0 to 3.0 for under $100.

Later, after RT2000 has been through the public release wringer, and after I get sick of dealing with longer rendering times, maybe I'll end up spending the money for it, anyway. At this point, though, I'm more excited about seeing the fallout over this product when it finally does get released. It seems to me that the longer it takes Matrox to get the RT2000 released, the more upset buyers will be if ANYTHING is wrong with it!
