I need some help on procedure. If someone knows please advise.

Doc. Thanks for the help so far and thanks for the pins.

I have a blank screen on boot with only the matrox card in.

So then I run a pci card as well as the marvel, boot to dos and from a floppy with progbios, 4gw and the pin file (pal2.dat) files and run progbios.

Having done that,I still get a message that vga is disabled -bios, and invalid pins offset.

Getting these error messages when i try other variations of progbios.

    progbios -i (invalid pins offset)

    progbios -i 897-19tv.bin -k(ditto + vga disabled -bios)

    progbios -i auto pal2.dat -k (the above + usage progbios -i infile.ext)

progbios -i infile.ext (cannot open bios input.)

    Any suggestions please

Yes, post to one single thread instead of multiple.

    Still something stupid post.

Yes greebe. Of course you are correct in admonishing me. However by way of reason, I determined that if 8 pages of ????? could be given to something about a non-existent card, perhaps it was the title of my post that was the reason for lack of interest and I was simply trying to get help from experienced users. Failed miserably didn't I.

Use the matrox tools to create a repair bios disk. Then replace the bios file on the disk with a known good one. Name it the same as the one on the disk. Start the computer with the floppy in the drive and only the matrox card. Once the drive is read everything will go quiet for a minute or so. Then there will be a beep and the drive will be accessed for a few seconds. Remove the disk and restart the computer.

Have you tried Matrox Tech Support?
If you supply the info they need on the card, they will likely mail you the PINs file you need.

I have been given the pins file and I changed the serial nimber in the file to my serial number. I imagine that was the correct thing to do.

I have located an emergency bios disk generated for another marvel g400tv.

Am I right in thinking this will restore mine ?

The card is still under warranty from Matrox.
They will RMA it if nothing else...
