  • Matrox's dual head IS THE BEST!!

    Hi all,

I just thought I reiterate that no company whether its ATI or Nvidia etc. can even come close to the quality of Matrox's Dual Head!!!

I bought an ATI Radeon VE to test "stuff" and WOW what a difference, the quality, the output is no where near any Matrox dual head card.
The ATI is very finicky, and get this..when you power on the PC, both monitors are displaying the same thing until Windows boots up and the drivers kick in.
If you're in Win2K and you want to play Unreal for example, both monitors will show the same game as if I'm in clone mode???
The Radeon VE really lacks the features and controls that we have on our G400/G450 cards.
I haven't tried output to TV yet, we'll see how that is.

So again Matrox's dual head RULZ!!! end of story.

    Elie

i think that gameclone "feature" is nice though, because if you don't play alone the person watching you doesn't always look over your shoulder, distracting your concentration

There's an Opera in my macbook.

Matrox had it right the very first time.
Further more testing indicated that the first monitor can be set as high as 85hz but the second monitor can only be set to 60 Hz, making my eyes water. BTW: both monitors are 17 inch NEC's.

So I'm returning the ATI and buying a G400 Max or G450 tomorrow

        Regards,
        Elie
