I appreciate the following quotes from their article ...

<font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" size="2">"We knew when to say no," said Ed Dwyer, executive vice-president, sales, Matrox Graphics. "Many companies in our industry failed because they got too caught up in the hype, but we've demonstrated an ability to predict the real value of a particular market.

                ...

This commitment to meeting the needs of business customers is a good reason why Dwyer remains characteristically confident amid current industry speculation about who will and won't survive. "We've been doing this successfully for 25 years," he said. "We've never had debt. We've always been profitable. While the elephants fight their battle, let the lion walk by."</font>

                  I liked this little bit.

<font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" size="2">Today, after 25 successful years in the high-tech industry, Trottier and Matic have become the master teachers to a workforce of over 1,200 entrepreneurial prodigies and are confident that the greatest Matrox technologies are yet to come.

"We're working on technologies that have great potential. Not just the ordinary—the better. Our experience shows us that when we do that, we succeed," said Trottier.</font>

Lorne Trottier and Branko Matic! God, I've been looking for their names for a while. I've been calling them Orville and Wilbur Matrox because I couldn't remember their names, and I knew they started the business in a garage.

In honor of the 25th anniversary, I think Matrox should name the mythical G800 the Lorn-co Brankomatic.

Matrox Imaging introduces the Genesis Series. This line of cards sets a new performance standard for PC-based imaging systems with its highly pipelined, parallel-processing architecture.

Genesis. Could this be what the "G" stands for?
