Stretched image with G400

When recording a DVD to my VCR, the image appears stretched vertically even though I have selected 'Preserve Aspect Ratio'. It's not stretched to full screen, but just enough to make it annoying.

The DVD is NTSC, and although my VCR can record NTSC fine, the country I'm in uses PAL by default, so I'm wondering if there's a mismatch somewhere due to this? Choosing the PAL option doesn't make any difference though.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Is the only problem U encounter is a size problem?
When recording do U get a clear viewable picture? (Xept 4 the size thing)

Yes I get a perfect picture. I have found the cause of the size problem. If I select "Detect Based On Video Window Size" instead of "Detect Based On Video Source Size", then the size problem goes away.
