  • New G400 driver and DirectX on W2K

I just installed the new G400 Dual head driver on Windows 2000. It's really cool. Works like I got 2 display adapter. Makes my life so much easier.

However, after the installation DirectX fail to recognize the hardware so a lot of games will not run (except ones that would run in software mode). I remember experiencing similar problem last time and got it fixed by removing NetMeeting.

I don't have NetMeeting installed this time. Any idea?

My system config: Dell Precision 220 Pentium III 733 MHz, 256 MB Ram, G400 Dualhead, DirectX 8.

3D acceleration is disabled in true dualhead mode at this time, you have to disable dualhead to use 3D.

I can tell you for sure, on my system, Netmeeting can interfere with some
aspect(s) of video. For example, if
NM is running , quake absolutely won't start.
Also, some of my openGL screen savers won't work. Also, I noticed that if Netmeeting hangs and I have to shut it down through control-alt-del , i get the same symptom.
My fix in this case is to start NM and then
shut it down the normal way. hope this helps
