  • Fonts getting weird with new driver

I installed the new 5.51 drivers under Win2k, G400Max card.

Set up dualhead and things were great. Today (after having this setup for several days), I noticed that some of the fonts on my main display were looking strange. Hard to describe, they look like they're patially missing, kind of smudged.

I'm going to reboot to see if this fixes the problem, but it's strange it just started happening.

Anyone else experienced this? Any idea what is going on?

    Specs:
    Win2k sp1
    G400Max (no overclock)
    Asus K7M; AMD 600 OC to 750
Primary Monitor: 21" NEC Multisynch XP 1280x1024
    2nd monitor: Vivitron 17" @ 1152x864

    Thanks.

If this were Win9x, I'd tell you to run TweakUI, and find the button to rebuild the fonts. I don't know what the W2k analogue is though.

Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.

This problem is usually fixed by disabling the bitmap caching. It can be done with the MTST Utility.

That fixes the font problem in IE, but anyone have any idea why Buddy Info boxes are corrupt in AIM?
