  • Setting precise screen resolutions

I've got the manual here for my monitor (funny that :-) )

It says my monitor is capible of running at 1280x1024, and it gives freqs of V: 60Hz, H: 64.31Hz.

I downloaded the Resolution Manager (Win2k), but it won't let me enter the freqs with decimals :-(

Anybody else encountered this problem? Is there a registry setting I can play with? Any help would be apreciated!

You don't need resolution manager, I believe you should be able to do this all within your drivers. About the decimals, all refreshes are going to be in terms of whole numbers, so you just put the whole number in, not the decimal. To use the Matrox drivers to customize the resolution you want to run is simple (provided you are running a Matrox card). Goto display properties/advanced/monitor settings/adjust a different display mode, and you can choose the mode you want to customize.

Thanks for that -- I forgot about the "Change other display" settings :-)

Well, I finally got it working -- and it's too wabbly to use :-(

        Thanks for your help anyways
