  • G400 and 3DS MAX

A few days ago I tried new 3DS MAX R4. I've set up D3D driver. It performs well, but after several minutes the Windows freezes. I've already have the same problem with R3 and R2.5. I didn't try OpenGL driver yet, but I've had similar problems with R3 and R2.5 with OpenGL. The only driver which worked was the software driver. Have you any idea?

    CPU: PIII/500

    RAM 128 MB

mobo: AOpen AX6B (BIOS rev. 2.35)

VGA: Matrox Millenium G400 32MB SH (Paraknowya's "Powerdesk" 6.21, I've tried also the newest PD 6.23 with the same results)

Sound: SB Live! Value (with LW3 and new drivers for Win ME)

    OS: M$ Windows ME

    Thanx for any idea

Try UNDERcloking your G400 (using PowerStrip, not MGATweak) to see if heat causes those instabilities...

(BTW, I think I'm growing impotent because of all that G800-induced stress; last night, my gal and I only danced the Grand Mambo once and then both fell asleep watching "The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn"...)
