  • AGP bus overclocking

This might be old news, but theres an article at Rolotech on AGP bus overclocking and what video cards can run at higher AGP bus speeds -http://www.rolotech.com/reviews/videocard/Overclocking/choose_videocard/videocard_oclk_p1.htm

The G400 and G450 are happy to run at 89mhz AGP bus apparently.

My G400 Single-head 16 MB aka 'Vanilla' causes graphic glitches in 3DMark2000 with 2X mode at 89Mhz. So all I can do is using 1X mode.
Just be careful. Overclocking AGP bus too high may cause AGP slot permanent damage.

Yah, i had my MAX running 1/1 on a 100mhz fsb accidentally before. it acctually worked, but any 3d accel would crash it badly. i was quite impressed, since i've heard most cards won't even post at that speed.

            Hey Durango,
Next time just use PrintScreen or Alt-Printscreen.

and use a gif to save the screenshot

btw. Running at 2x AGP at a 95Mhz AGP port speed is really kickass! I hope you don't damage your card or motherboard by doing that too long

                    I ran my G400 on a celeron 300A at 450 with a 1/1 agp (100 Mhz) for about 3 months, then I had a P3 450 at 600 (89 Mhz agp) for about 6 months, then I had a P3 600 with a 1/1 Agp, now a P3 750 at 1 gig (89Mhz agp) and the G400 started clearing the bios every now and again.

This G400 has run in an overclocked AGP bus its entire life, and its from the first batch of cards, and has only just started to play up. If I run it at 86Mhz agp (129 fsb) its rock solid still. It has always run at 2X agp (not that that makes any difference).

                    Ali

PS, I have a G200 that is running in my old P3 600 at 1/1 agp, and its still going strong.
