  • Just got G450 32mb + Problems

This G450 32mb was one bitch to install, I had to manually install drivers after the install utility froze up 3x in a row, but now that it's working, I have some annoying problems - why does the maximum refresh rate lower on my primary monitor (21" Sony G500) when I increase the refresh rate on my second monitor (17" Viewsonic)?

For example, when my 21" is @ 1280x1024x85hz, and I switch my 17" from 60hz to 75hz @ 1024x768, the 21" refresh rate will drop to 60hz (which is the max I can select).

Also I can't get anything higher than 85hz @ 1280x1024 on my high end G500 whereas my old TNT1 could do 100mhz!!! According to the matrox website I *should* get 120mhz max. argghh!

This is really annoying! I've already updated the drivers (6.21), updated the bios (2.03). Running Win Me with all updates including DX8. THe card is running at AGP2X as far as I can tell on an Abit BH6.

Did you first completely remove the previous cards drivers?

Actually no, but I just did now. I'll go back to standard vga, remove all drivers and start over.

Nope same problem..well 85hz doesn't bother me (so far), and once Windows Whistler comes I'll be using that.
