  • 2D speed of g200?

Hello, I am contemplating getting a g200 on the cheap to go in a 815 computer. I am only interested in 2D games. Would that be better than the onboard 815?

    Thank you.

Yes, especially at high resolutions. My Mil G200 is fantastic at 1600x1200 16 bit (8 meg limitation)

In fact, the G200 speed in 2D is almost the same as the G400.

In fact, the Intel i752 graphics core used in i815 chipsets is not a bad 2D performer either. But as a UMA solution, it steals some bandwidth from the main memory.

Thanks for your answers. I have 8MB of g200 RAM in a drawer so I thought I could put it to use if I purchased a used g200.

Make sure you match the card to the type of RAm you have. There were two RAM types in the G200.
