  • Audio Distortion

Recently re-loaded Windows95 OSR2 and suddenly my audio is distorted (sounds like it's playing back via AM Radio). This problem didn't exist before the reload. If I try to record the signal off of my soundcard via the Windows Sound Recorder it sounds fine. It's only garbled during playback through the PC/VCR or Avid. Sound volume levels set at the mid point. Latest Video Tools & Matrox drivers loaded. Any Ideas?

    I have the following configuration:
    Tyan 1590S MB w/ VIA MVP3
    K6-II 333
    64M Ram
    SoundBlaster AWE64 OEM Sound Card
    Promise Ultra66 IDE Controller
    Matrox Marvel G400

Searched through some old posts and found others that had this problem. Followed their advice by disabling the ATA/66 on my WD drive back down to ATA/33. The Promise card automatically detected the change and configured the system accordingly. Sound is no longer garbled and things seem to be running fine. Not sure if Tony will ever read this post, but my hat's off to him and those who help him. Off to make videos!!
