I was re-reading Firingsquad review of Age of Empires II again, and I noticed this interesting comment (note that it's over a year old):

"It's games like AOE2 that make me glad I use a Matrox card (for superior picture quality)."

I wish that there was more consideration into 2D gaming in hardware reviews because not all gaming is 3D. If it wasn't for UT, I would even say that all of my gaming is 2D.

I just wish they would even mention image quality. At a lan game over new years eve/day, i noticed just how nice my G400 MAX looks. Even at 1024x768 w/ i think medium textures and a couple options turned off in Quake 3, it looked just as nice, if not nicer, than the GeForce2's and Voodoo 5's at 1600x1200 that had everything maxed out.
