  • G200, w2k and drivers v5.13, 5.20 and 5.31

Every driver version newer than 5.07 is quite unstable on my w2k rig. The weird thing is that 3D apps and games run just fine, without problems, but sometimes while doing normal (2D) stuff the vidcard shows some weird stuff like enlarged screen or some other neat tricks and the system freezes. This happens the same or next day after installation of these drivers.

I never have had any problems with driver versions 5.06 and 5.07. They're rock-stable.

Are more people having stability problems with this combination:

    -G200/G400
-MVP3 chipset (don't know if it matters in this case)
    -Windows2000
    -drivers 5.13, 5.20 or 5.31

If it is "just me" the problem might be hard to crack, but if more people have stability problems things need to be fixed...
Currently I'm using the 5.07 drivers again, but they are much slower in Direct3D

I think 5.31 is the best. Stable and much faster, at least in UT benchmark. It gives me about 10 FPS more at 640x480 in UT..
And the rolling line is gone!
Though, OpenGL screensavers still sometimes completely freeze my computer and I have to reboot it manually.
