  • Sound problem with new drivers

Anyone here have a VIA motherboard with a vortext 2 soundcard (mine is xitel) having sound problem after installing the last 2 new drivers?

after installing it my sound would quickly stop after reboot of my computer and i wouldn't get sound again until i reboot and the process repeat it self.

for some reason if i install the w2k_514 driver everything seems to work perfectly.

    Please help.

I've got the MX300 and all is fine! Are you using the very latest drivers for the sound card?

Yeah i'm.. i even tried using the older sound driver and even the default win2k driver still doesn't work..

i first thought it was my sound driver until i uninstall the matrox driver and then everything worked again.

        Rice-Boy(you like ricers, eh? )

Post your complete system specs, and let's see if there is anything glaringly wrong.

I have the same issue, but only in games, cs in particular, the sound seems to break up, turning off A3D in cs helps, but it sounds crap. It's could be a VIA or Aureal issue, but this has only started to happen since I loaded the new (6.21) drivers. The only thing I have in common with Rice-Boy is the mobo and an Aureal based sound card.
