  • Constant reinstallation horror

    Well, it's happening again...
At the end of the day I fire up my CS and play for a while... then, as it sometimes happens, computer freezes (i play CS in OpenGL). It's ok... i am used to it.
I restart, and see 640x480x4bit again... it's ok too, i turn off the computer and wait a little (helps sometimes). I turn it on again - didn't help... ok, i uninstall drivers by uninstalling the device (btw, it still shows matrox in device manages, but bsod's when you go to display settings), install vga driver and then PD 5.31 (i also tried 5.20 this time). No go... still 640x480x4bit...
Well, last resort is always uninstall utility. That helps, but my PD settings are reset... oh well...

So, i got number of points here
    1) That havoc was caused by just playing CS, and i actualy got that problem couple of times by just working in windows
    2) Sometimes powerdown (complete, for ATX case) helps
    3) That problem occurs in all drivers I saw recently (that is 5.xx)
    4) Oh, forgot one: before PD 5.20 i was getting that problem almost every time i shutted down windows, which was not a problem, since I hibernate mostly.

So i just want to know, if enybody encountered something like that, before i go to matrox support.
