  • well done to matrox for new drivers

i've just installed dx8, new soubdblaster live drivers, new via 4 in 1's and the new 6.10' s frommatrox. i have to say i'm impressed, in the unreal time demo under open gl with everything cranked to the max my g400 max and athlon @660 now gets 9-10 more fps (around 54 @ 800*600). however my 3dmark score have dropped from 3150 ish to 3000, has anyone else had this experience?

I haven't installed the new drivers or DirectX 8 on my Matrox-based sytem. However, I do know that NVIDIA's leaked DirectX 8-capable drivers (v. 7.17) and DX8 results in a substantial 3DMark drop: 300 points with a GeForce DDR on an Athlon 750-based system. I saw a big framerate drop in UT as well, although it appears to have increased stability on this particular system.

    Thank goodness 3DMark 2000 isn't a game.

With the new driver I have seen mild improvement in 3DMark2000 scores on my Vanilla (Powerstrip OC to 187/140) from 3003 3069.
Haven't run UT since reinstalling. The new drivers do not render textures properly in Fifa2000.
btw I'll see how fifa2001 goes later
