  • !Weird Display errors !

Got some weird display 'glitches'. The problem's not related to a special OS, same under NT4 and Win9x. It's even worse with Active Desktop. Now see the display 800x600x32bits:

[The green dots beneath the attachment icon, the f***ed up mail icons, the big S, the small n]

Now take a look at what it's like to run under 16 Bit colors:

It is a Matrox G100 AGP-chipset (4mb) on-board (a SIEMENS D1064 with a PII-350). Already tried to remove several PCI-Cards or single SDRAM'S (should do 8ns), still the same. The Mobo's BIOS is up-to-date, already tried the Video drivers available at the Siemens-Homepage.

    PLEEEEEAAAAASEEEE HEEELLLLPPP !!!!

I used to get what you show in the 2nd pic with my G100 and some old drivers (several years old).

Sadly, the Siemens drivers are probably very out of date and I doubt the Matrox ones will work

It looks like the link to your first pic is broken btw.

Already got the Powerdesk Version 4.42 (NT4) and V 5.40 (W9x). Don't think the new one will do it, but I'll give it a try...

Here the first pic, sorry for double-posting, could have done it straight this way (DAMN ME!):

Did you use Matrox' uninstaller to get rid of all traces of previous driver installations ?

I think so. It's the same under NT4 and W9x even after installing drivers for the first time.

I hope you don´t have overcklocked your board to much !

And if the newest drivers doesn´t work better try different drivers of the old ones..

                UPDATE the OS expoler etc...

If this doesn´t help tell me what mainboard u have ?

                Feed me !

This can be caused by an old version of comctl32.dll. Some Windows controls (toolbars especially) can display corrupted icons with older versions of this DLL.
