  • question about AGP bus speed & rate ?

    Hi!
Iv just upgraded from 128mb PC100 to 128mb PC133 & set my mobo ASUS P3-BF to 133FSB & its working well..but now the AGP rate is pritty HIGH 2x(178mhz) by 89mhzBUS

now Im wondering what will happend if I force the AGP rate to 1X & set the AGP bus freq on my MOBOs dip switch 1x not (2/3 like default ) this would set the agp bus speed to 133 but with agp 1X I will have only 133mhz & this should be less then 178mhz but more the 89 if agp is forced to 1X via MTSTU200

    need your advises..thanks !

I think that AGP 2X doesn't physically double the clock rate of the bus, it only effectively doubles it.

I doubt very much that your G400 would take 133Mhz AGP bus, mine starts giving up at around 95Mhz at both 1X and 2X Agp.
