  • G400 Max, Win2k Pro, Dualhead??

I've had this G400 max for awhile, and been running win2k pro for awhile as well with no problems, I'm now running drivers ver 5.04.
Just tonight I plugged a 2nd monitor in, the 2nd one is a 17, the primary is a 19. I selected dualhead multidisplay after hearing so many good things about it but I can't even get the other monitor to do anything. The power button just flashes like there is no video hooked up to it, I put them both on various resolutions but can't get anything, any ideas?
    thanks,
    Daniel

Are you setting the resolution to one that is twice as wide as normal?

    I normally run a 19"/17" setup on 2048x768 (ie, 2x 1024x768 displays) If you have a good 17" you may be able to do 2560x1024 (2x 1280x1024)

Yep, it's really wild too, only now I have to move monitor #2 into a useable place cause I have it on a chair next to me about 100 degrees to the right so it makes it hard to use

Yeh, I've had some wild setups - once I had multidisplay from my 19" to the television sitting all the way across the room. Wierd to drag a window that far. :-P

Only recently I had a Sony Digital Handycam as the second display. 800x600 looks kinda wierd on a 2" display. Quake3 looked cool, though (on Clone) :-P

Another wierd thing to try is multi-head gaming. I think it's at http://www.planetquake.com/mhg that they have the settings for quake3 so that you can have it spanning the two monitors in win2k. Hard to play cause the crosshair's right in the joint of the monitors, but geez you get a good fov. :-)
