  • dual matrox vid cards in win2k

i have the g400 max running under win2k and want to add complete dual monitor capability so i went out and got a pci g200...is there going to be any trick to me adding this second card to be able to get dual screens running properly....?

do i need to worry about driver issues since they are both matrox cards? i don't have any experience running dual video cards under windows...

    thanks much

No trick needed. Just put in the g200 and boot up. You'll now end up with a triple screen setup however, the DH of the G400 will be spanned and the OS will see the G200 as the 2nd head.

Haig - Is there an advantage to this setup vs just using the dual head from the G400?

        Brian R.,

The advantage would be the ability to change the resolution of the monitor on the PCI G200 separate from the G400. As I’m sure you know, both monitors on the G400 must have the same resolution in W2K.

I’m sure there are other advantages too, like having 3 monitors
