  • Problem for enable AGP 4x on G400 SH 32MB

    Hi boys...

    I have one BIG problem...
First of all this is my configuration:

    Asus K7V (chipset VIA KX133)BIOS 1006
    AMD Athlon 600 Mhz
HD Quantum FireballP LM 10 Gb
    Yamaha CRW 8424
    Adapter SCSI 2904
    Hitachi GD-5000
    Matrox G400 SH 32Mb bios1.6 driver 5.52.015
    Sound Blaster PCI 128
    Modem Diamond 56k int.

    Now...
Why my graphic card have enabled only the AGP 1x for WCPUID?
I have tried to force the AGP 2x with AGP Switch V.001 Alpha and fortunately now i have enabled the AGP 2x but...I NEED THE AGP 4X!!
    I'm desperate...
    Please help me...

    "I NEED THE AGP 4X!!"

No, you don't. That just what marketing monkeys want you to think.
4x provides zero performance improvement in almost everything, and only a slight, un-noticable increase in a couple of games/apps.
2x is just as fast, and more stable.

Aside from 4x being meaningless today, we don't even know that you have a 4x capable G400. Earlier G400s where 2x/4x (2x APG, compatible with 4x slot and voltage). Find the little white sticker on the card, and list the part number (G4+??????).
    Core2 Duo E7500 2.93, Asus P5Q Pro Turbo, 4gig 1066 DDR2, 1gig Asus ENGTS250, SB X-Fi Gamer ,WD Caviar Black 1tb, Plextor PX-880SA, Dual Samsung 2494s
