  • Matrox G400 dual head with CUSL2 problem

I did some extensive research over the weekend. What drawn me to the conclusion that it's matrox drivers or video card that is the problem is when I took out the video card and used the onboard video instead and presto I am rock solid stable again. The errors I got were these:
    =======================
    PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
    0x00000050 (0xBC3C63D7, 0x00000000, 0xBC3C63D7, 0x00000003)
    ---------------------------
    UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP
    0x0000007F (0x0000000d, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
    ---------------------------
    DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
    0X000000D1 (0x010CEC83, 0X00000012, 0X00000000, 0xBFE42F13)
    ---------------------------
    KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
    0x0000001E (0xC0000005, 0x8049EFA8, 0x00000001, 0x0000D500)
    ---------------------------

I need to know what the 4 parameters in each error mean.
Basically I need to know from this info if it's hardware related or just

    bios
related. the 815E chipset is new and could be the problem.

    OS: windows 2000 professional

    Hardware used:
    P3 FC-PGA 733 cpu
256 megs of muschkin HSDRAM unbuffered non ecc
AGP: matrox G400 DH (uninstalled using onboard 815 graphics cotroller
    instead)
    slot1: empty
    slot2: SBlive (original)
    slot3: empty
    slot4: 3Com etherlink
    slot5: Adaptec 2940U2W scsi

I tested the memory with a memory tester downloaded from
mushkin's website, no errors found in the memory.

I also called mushkin to ask if they had any issues with this ram
running on CUSL2 they said no, so one would think if this ram
ran fine on a BX board and goes to shit on a CUSL2 board then
it's not the ram and muskin would get calls up the ass over it

All the same software and hardware worked 95% stable on
my BX board. I am trying to find out the cause of all my problems
    before I go returning stuff.

So now I am not getting BSOD errors I need to find out if A) do I need to return the card or B) is it a driver issue ?

Dude, I have a similar setup.
    G400max
    Asus cusl2
    256mb pc133
    sblive
    3com nic
    tekram scsi
    700e@938
    win2000 pro.

1, that mobo's apeture settings max at 64mb, so dont use those turbogl thing-a-majigs.

2, Make sure your not running agp4x, cause matrox lied and the g400's are really agp2x.

3, Make sure you use driver 5.03 or 5.04 ALL THE REST WILL KILL YOU.. trust me.

4, Buy a geforce2mx, cause its cheap, no problems and its hella-cool.

So I should give up the ability to set custom refresh rates to fix the problem ?

5.10 worked rock solid on BX why is it shitting the bed on 815E ?
