  • New Via 4in1423 release

I see that Via has posted a new 4in1423 on their site at:
    http://www.viatech.com/drivers/index.htm

Has anyone tried them yet, and if so, are there any advantages over the current 4in1422 plus AGP 4.03?

No they are the same. The only change between 4.22 and 4.23 is that the 4.03 AGP driver is now in the 4.23 pak.

Thanks for the reply, Joel. I suspected that was the case, but could not recall the version numbers of the previous set. Anyway, the AGP driver was of most interest to me, and it was listed as being the same 4.03.

By the way John, excellent response to kenjura's questions. I just stuck a G400 Vanilla on a KA7-100 and, knock on wood, so far, so good. Ran a couple of quick Quake 3 timedemos without a problem.

          paulcs -

Thanks for the comment and glad to hear you have the G400 working on the KA7-100. Is this with the HighPoint ATA-100 controller or with the built-in ATA-66 or ?

I'm using the standard IDE interface (UDMA/66). I don't have enough unused hard drives lying around to take advantage of the hidden RAID support, and the native ATA-66 support seems plenty fast at this point.
