  • Can't get 4x AGP on G400max

I just o/ced my athlon from 700 to 950 using a gfd. At 700 my G400max would run in AGP4x no problem. Now after o/cing the athlon my G400 will only run at 1xAGP.

How can I force it back to 4xAGP? I have 4x AGP enabled in my bios. but it doesn't help.

i have encountered the same problem with my k7v motherboard running a 500MHZ athlon but my G400 never work at 4X AGP, i istalled the 4 in one driver but AGP speed Remain at 2x.
the matrox powerdesk window continue signalimg me a 2x 4x agp speed but sysoft sandra tell me the agp card is only a 2x agp an motherboard a 4 x agp.when i try to istall new matrox driver power desk agp 2x 4x signal desappear.

please someone email me to phoenix19@dada.it
Could you tell me what kind of software you use for setting G400 max to 4x AGP ?
I download agp force software from murc main window but it seem not work. my speed remain to 2x

Just a note regarding the Asus K7V. There is a slight "bug" in BIOS 1006, 'limiting' it to AGP 1x/2x.

Try to raise the cpu voltage a notch. If when you don´t oc the cpu you got AGP4x, it surely isn´t G400 fault. You´ve got too much noise in the bus signals. More voltage can improve it.

          Thanks Nuno.
I assume you are talking about the core voltage? I'll try raising it tonight. Would raising the VIO voltage help too - it's currently at 3.4V? I think I'll try 3.56V also.

          Rogue.
          I am using 1007.001c bios.

Yes I was talking about the core voltage. What is your current setting?
            Increasing Vio could help too.

But be carefull, do it at your own risk and I sure hope you have plenty of cooling...

Hey Reeper, where did you get that 1007.001c bios? I once was fighting to get AGP4x but after installing 1006 it seemed to limit the AGP to 2x, what a bug!
Does the COM2 work with v1007 and 4x???
I'm really considering to downgrade my bios

can somebody take a moment to check my homepage and let me know if it looks ok or if I'm heading in the wrong direction...
