  • PD6 beta, G200 and 1024*768..

I try to install PD6beta with install.inf from PD5.52 and have this result:
system work is fine, but in some ames (WarBirds 2.76,Urban Operation..) i can't to set resolution 1024*768 - i'v got message "This resolution does not
support your hardware - try 640*480"
However, NFS PU working in 1024*768
    Help me, please

I haven't had such problems... but then again I don't run many games at 1024x768..
I don't have WarBirds but I'll try F4 tonight and see what's up...

don't you think playing with 1024 in NFS:PU is a bit overkill?? I have a P3650E@910 at the moment and wouldn't even think of trying that res... it's out of the cards Fillrate range...

      hi, Stringy

      Hmm.. I have a Celeron333(overclocking to 515),
G200 Millenium 8mb SGRAM (no overclocking), mboard Acorp VIA85
(Apollo Pro 100) and 64mb RAM.
I believe i had satisfactory fillrate in NFS:PU with 1024*768
BTW, how i can measure this fillrate?

        Hey there..
I tried F4 at 1024, no problems.. well that is in the Game itself.. but when I flew around abit and wanted to go back to the menu screen it dropped me to desktop... not so good but F4 is a work in progress... ;o)

As fer NFS:PU, yes @1024x768 is was "Ok" but I could still feel a delay... I have a Force Feedback stick and if the Frame rate is borderline I can't "feel" the speed and get the whole experience.. at 800x600 it's perfect..
As fer FillRate, it's the Speed at which the card can draw... well this is a limitation do the chip, being as how a G200 is clocked at around 84Mhz you get 84Million Pixels per second... not all that impressive... I'm O/C'ed mine to 91Mhz Core...

You may even want to consider going back from PD 6.0 beta. I've found it to be slower on my G200 (8MB SGRAM version) than the 5.41 drivers. I saw a ~4 FPS drop in UT. Not too much until you consider I average only 24 FPS (640x480x32 -- UTBench). Moreover, I saw ~100 point 3DMark2000 drop. Once again, doesn't seem like much until you consider that drop was from 941 to 841.
