  • i ran the new bios update ....

As I've never felt the need to fix what ain't broke, I can't help you with the recover of your BIOS (though I know there's a utility available from Matrox's web site to help w/that), but I can point out that I believe you need to do BIOS flashes in pure DOS mode.

I'm sure some guru will step in here and give the full skinny, but I believe that's where you started your problems.

Sorry to hear about your problems.

i ran the new bios update ....

i ran the new bios update in windows while running i exprienced a hard lockup i gave it 10 mins then restarted the g400 wont work now
so im running a mistique 220 and i tried to update again or go to an older bios i get error x300 or something and it reports the bios to be 1.6a but it just wont work
while the mistique was in i decided ill make an emergency disk and try it i then used the backup.bin to overwrite save.bin on the floppy
        no go
i also tried running dl8.exe myself and got:
        mistique 220 1.8
        vga enabled

        g400 1.6a
        vga disabled

i also tried running the floppy with the mistique out of the computer and edited my c: autoexec [thought maybe the floppy was bad]
        still no go

please someone tell me i can still format the bios rom on the card and install a new bios somehow this really sucks

        thank you.
