You can't really test as far as I know. You should be able run at 89mhz many poeple do here altough you may to force agp x1.

    Michel,
Could be. The BX6 is getting pretty long in the tooth by now.
Also, there is a big difference between 89mz and 100mz.
My max is a very early one (no 4x), but it handles a 95mz bus.
Do you have a friend with a newer mb you could test it out on?
    Good Luck

Just tested 4.5 x 83mhz with agp 1/1 and that worked ok, so i think 89 mhz will work. 100 mhz with agp 1/1 was just to much i think.

      thanx.

Good test to see if my max can do 89mhz agp?

        Hi,
how can i test if my max is capable of doing 89mhz agp? I currently have a cel300@450 on an Abit BX6.
I tried to set the agp divider to 1/1 (making it 100 mhz) but that didn't work (black screen during boot). Does this mean my max also can't do 89mhz? If that is true that means i can't buy a shiney new high clocked PIII .

Could it be that my current mobo doesn't like this setting? Is there another way to test this? I must say my max also can't run agp2 stable on my current setup.
