  • What are your 3DMark2000 scores?

Well actually I'm a bit surprised because my Windows installation is years old and is rubbish concerning all the installs and deinstalls of drivers, programs, special system files and other stuff but I still get some very good:

    2856 3DMark2000 pts

    System is a 650MHz @ 650MHz, G400Max, 256MB RAM, ...

The sys is getting some small increase if I get it to 700MHz but becasue I do this via FSB overclocking the system loses stability especially with OpenGL games so I won't post this result here!

    regards

    What are your 3DMark2000 scores?

I'm wondering what scores people are getting with from their G400 when they run 3DMark2000. I get 2718pts out of my OEM G400 w/16MB running my athlon 600@800 w/256 MBs of PC100 ram. Is this a score in the low range?

ps The G400 is also clocked 7.5% higher.

        Looks pretty good to me.

My Athlon 700@805 with 256mb PC133@133 RAM and G400 32mb SH (no overclock) gets about the same as yours does.

If I overclock the G400 to MAX speeds, I get about 3300...

(This is on the default benchmark)

No, you get good scores. The note of this benchmark derives from your framerate in the first 2 tests (helicopter and adventure), the other tests are only an indication of your performances.
In low quality, the 2 tests are often fill-rate limited. The tests in middle and high quality are more CPU limited (many polygons).

            That's why your Athlon shines.

Nice to know that I'm not in the low range.
Actually, I posted this message because I was wondering why my friend is getting 28xx with his voodoo 3500 (w/o oc) running the same default test on his athlon 650@750.

Now, how do I oveclock my G400 to Max levels? Is it even possilbe? I already put a fan ontop of the stock heatsink, and that let me go from 6% to 8%. I'm currently using the oveclocking tool from Matrox, so would MGA tweak let me tweak it even more?

                  And the runner up is:

                  3DMarks: 0

Yep that's right - zip, nothing. Unfortunately I still can't get the benchmark to run properally under Win 2K - its a known bug, but Mad Onion seems unwilling/unable to address the issue. Still we can't have everying I suppose.....

I have been able to get over 3000 with MGATweak but have not had time to experiment enough.

PoorStudent: Your memory is keeping you back. Before I updated the BIOS I could only get the memory to run at 100MHz. PC133 brought another 200 or so to my scores.

I don't think that's me though: 3DMark favors SSE instructions.
