  • DVD Sound and video skipping

At random intervals during DVD playback using the bundled Ravisent player the sound and video skip. I am using the following setup:

    Matrox G400Max
A-Open DVD-1040 Pro Slot In DVD Drive (DMA enabled, Firmware 1.25 (not hacked))
    Soltek SL-77KV (VIA KX133) Motherboard
    256MB PC133 Memory
    AMD Athlon 550@750MHz CPU
    SB Live Player 1024
    Cambridge Soundworks DTT2500 Speakers
IWill Side 2930U Ultra SCSI Card
    Netgear EA101c USB Ethernet Adapter

The DVD playback skips even when playing on just the monitor with Dualhead DVDMax disabled. I am using DVDGenie 3.43 and have tried a number of different setting but the problem keeps occuring.

The G400Max shares its IRQ (11) wuth the following items:

ACPI IRQ Holder for PCI IRQ Steering
    AvanSys PCI SCSI Host Adapter

Would these affect the G400Max in anyway. The majority of the time the SCSI adapter is not used as a Scanner is the only peripheral connected to it and this is turned off when it is not in use.

The sound is sent to the speakers via the digital connectors and apart from the DVD playback, it plays other sounds perfectly.

Any help in rectifying this problem will be greatly appreciated.

P.S. What would be the optimal settings in DVDGenie for my setup.

I solved a similar problem by switching to WinDVD.
