  • G450 Announced........so..........................

Who thinks it still has a 128-bit G450 chip to mem interface?

I read a post over at Tech Report who thought this up. He said current memory chips are 32-bit while this DDR is 64-bit. That would save PCB space because less RAM chips are req'd. ??????????

So maybe the 64-bit DDR interface is in fact just 2 64-bit memory chips. with the full bus intact.............????????

That's what I also implied in another tread as it is a common way to increase bandwidth. Normal memory chips indeed don't have 128 bit interface.

And if a chip was indeed 128 bit, then why do we need 8 chips to form 32 MB on the G400. ;-)
