How about answers like:

No

SOON

When they are finished
I wish people would stop asking these dumb questions... what? Are we clairvoyant or something?

      What about

"Don't bug me. I am working on something else."

"Don't ask me. Go buy from someone else."

The MURC is not Matrox! I guess you didn't clue in on that fact. If you have an issue, and wish to "demand" immediate resolution, try here > http://forum.matrox.com/ . They are Matrox. But, honestly, they won't tell you when the next drivers will be released. Jorden, on the other hand, really doesn't know. Even if he did, he would most likely be restricted by an NDA. Ergo, He wouldn't tell you!

Here at the MURC, we try to help each other out with issues. Many of the rest of us are in the same boat you are. Just keep coming back regularly. And when the drivers are released you can find out about it here, and "test" them with us.

Wow. I read the original question twice but still don't see what is so unreasonable or offensive about it...

There used to be Matrox employees and beta testers around here who quite happily hinted and openly commented on the state of the latest driver builds they were testing, and I don't recall hearing about any of them getting fired or kicked out of the beta program for NDA violation.

We're still here, and we still happily do what we can.

We can comment on bug fixes, confirm if Matrox is aware of a specific issue, and lend whatever assistance we can.

However, we CANNOT comment on new features in drivers, unannounced products or release dates of any kind. To do so would violate our NDA (which Jord is not in danger of violating, as he hasn't signed one ). The original question of this thread breaches 2 of those...new features and release dates.

So the best we can say is: When it's done.
If that's not good enough for you, don't ask again. If we seem easily annoyed when the question of driver release dates is posed again, it's only because we're tired of people asking us. Not just here in the forums, but in e-mails, over ICQ, etc. And the answer is always the same. WE DON'T KNOW.

Personally, I wasn't offended(? why would I be?). I just thought HDOutfitter was failing to understand when he/she made the comment; "Don't ask me. Go buy from someone else." I was trying to make the point that Jorden wasn't a Matrox employee, not "dump" on anyone.

I've been around long enough to know the other details! Actually, I can vaguely remember being frustraited while waiting for updated drivers in the past. And presently, I want updated Win2k drivers myself, very badly!!! Just that I've "learned" to be more patient now. Life is allot more "fun" for me this way!

Well, I hate to state the obvious, but if the answer is "I don't know", then why bother answering?

What would happen to these forums if everyone answered questions they didn't know the answer to, just because they didn't like the question?

That PowerDesk 6 would have monitor configuration was announced here, on MURC, by a MURC employee in unofficial capacity. I just dont see anything irritating about someone asking "when?" a few weeks later. Even if it was, you have to admit there seem to be a lot of would-be policemen around here (which is kinda irritating)...

                        Hi Ashley,

Well, I guess that if you always get the same answer, then one can ask the same question of the people posing the question...right? I haven't seen any "policmen" in this thread, maybe you could point them out to me....maybe you are just easily irritated? I dunno...

??? Someone signs an NDA and suddenly they're best pals with the CEO? It's not just here, the Microsoft newsgroups are rife with bubblegum beta policemen.

Ashley's right. Why bother getting so indignant about a simple question like when? If nothing else, it cautions would be Matrox purchasers that there are some significant unresolved issues, and just maybe the publicity encourages Matrox to hurry up a little.

Anyone here gone to jail for violating an NDA?

                            Paul,

I don't see any beta testers here being a policeman of any type, in fact I have only seen two people post in this thread that I know to be under NDA, and I am one of them. IF anyone is being a policeman,
If nothing else, it cautions would be Matrox purchasers that there are some significant unresolved issues,
                            that would be you.

I don't think it's too hard to understand. Matrox has done this ever since I can remember. They don't allow talk of unannounced products, and that includes drivers. Pretty simple...maybe it's just too simple to understand.

                              Ashley-

Well, I hate to state the obvious, but if the answer is "I don't know", then why bother answering?"

I will point out at this time that nobody under NDA bothered to answer, until YOU stated:

"There used to be Matrox employees and beta testers around here..."

Up until that point, anyone under NDA WAS ignoring the thread. I am simply pointing out that just because there are beta testers here does not mean we can give out that type of info, as you implied.
