  • 2 questions......... WIN95 Pdesk disable.... and WIN95 AGP

    i got 2 questions...

    1. i have a g200(5.52 drivers) and i am using win95 oem. it doesnt stutter like it did in windows 98 but it takes up 30% of my processor usage. i checked using taskinfo2000. in win98 you could go to msconfig and disable the startup of pdesk. but how do u do that in win95?????

    2. my g200 agp runs in pci mode. win95 oem doesnt have agp support. win95osr2 does but i dont have osr2. is there anyway to get it working???????? or is there anywhere where i could get the osr2 update???????

For disabling PD, search the forum for PDEnable registry key which should do the trick. If that doesn't work, try removing PD starting registry key from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run.

I had the same problem with AGP in Win95OSR2.1. DXDiag and 3dMark99 said that my AGP G200 was detected as PCI. I had installed USB update, USB patch and Intel 440BX mobo patch to my system. When I installed Win98, the G200 was detected as AGP. I don't know if the display drivers or DX have somekind of detection problem in Win95 or what, but installing Win98 fixed that one easily.
